I think KatieAnn is currently going through a growth spurt.  2 ½ ounces of milk every three hours is no longer enough.  My baby’s growing up so fast!  She’s been a little fussier lately, doesn’t sleep quite as much, and keeps her eyes open the whole time she’s awake now.  She’s entertained by looking at things around her while she’s awake, but she hates the silence, and gets angry when it’s too quite in the house (sounds like her mommy!)  I don’t know what I’d do without Ray!

Instead of classical music (don’t hold it against me, but I’m not a huge fan…it’s probably the reason I’m not the world’s most intelligent individual…;) ) I played KatieAnn songs by Ray LaMontagne while she was in the womb.  The hour that Jeff and I got to hold her immediately following delivery, Jeff took out his iPhone and we played some Ray while we were all together as a family for the first time.

I guess I never really believed that a baby in the womb could be soothed by music or remember it after delivery, but I certainly do now.  Every time KatieAnn gets fussy, we play a little Ray and she immediately calms down, especially when we rock her and sing along.

That was the story of my morning.  KatieAnn was wide awake after her feeding, and needed a little more mommy attention than normal. We turned up some Ray, put it on repeat, and in our pj’s, twirled and twirled around the office singing loudly, living in the moment.  I’ll always treasure these moments.

Of course I wanted to share a few of our favorite songs by Ray, just in case a little twirl in your pj’s is exactly what you’ve been needing too.

This was the song I played the most during my pregnancy.  It’s the song we played after right after delivery, and the one we twirl the most to.  It’s definitely our special song, and I just love singing it to my little KatieAnn. (make sure your volume is up loud for this one!)

Here are some of our other favorites.

Love this post! My nephew loves music too! My brother-in-law played him music everyday thru the womb. It’s pretty amazing! We love Ray too! It was our 1st dance together as husband & wife. :)
