Yes, it’s true! I made my first newborn beanie yesterday! Woohoo!

Those who followed my blog and IG around Christmas time may have seen my crocheted boot toppers, and may have even bought a pair! And some of you may have made your own chunky scarf tutorial from watching my YouTube video! However…

…I have a confession to make: I don’t even know how to read a crochet pattern! (or at least I didn’t , until last night). A sweet lady in the Wal-Mart yarn isle told me how to make the boot toppers, so I had no need to read a pattern. As for my scarves, someone also taught me, in person, how to make those years ago…so again, no need for a pattern. (That’s why I referred to my chain links as “coffee beans” in my YouTube tutorial!)

Quite a few of you have asked me to post a tutorial on how to make the baby beanie. Unlike those other crocheted pretties, I used someone else’s tutorial to make this adorable little hat!

But, if you’re anything like me, this might be your first time attempting to read a pattern. That’s why I’ve included, not only the link to the pattern, but links to the same YouTube videos that I watched to make myself familiar with the different crochet directions that the pattern calls for.
