Believe it or not, I’ve already made my Christmas list. And the presents on the list are not for me. I’ve decided to go all out this year and “DIY” all of my gifts.

In the past, I’ve DIY’d some of my gifts, and store bought others. What I’ve noticed was that the gifts that I made were the gifts that were more appreciated (and used) than the store bought gifts (even though I did put a lot of thought into them too).

I crocheted a lot of scarves last year, and it was an awesome feeling when I would run into someone at the grocery store wearing the scarf that I made them. Not only that, but making gifts really saved me a lot of Christmas cash, even though I invested a lot of my time.

This year, I’m making more than just scarves. Thanks to Pinterest.com, I’ve pinned LOTS of DIY gift ideas. Just an FYI though, I’ve noticed that the Pinterest app has been going SNAIL SLOW lately (probably from so many users) or the app won’t even work for me at all. I’ve had to re-install the app twice now. Recently I’ve been using Pinterest online, but the app is so much more convenient for pinning while I’m waiting around for a meeting or on my lunch break. Hopefully the Pinterest crew will update it soon.

I’ve made my list and I’ve checked it more than twice, and even though I’m not completely in the Christmas spirit yet, I will definitely thank myself once Christmas rolls around and I’m not spending a lot of cash all at once while frantically looking for last minute gifts. (yes….I do learn from experience)…PLUS, I can enjoy Christmas for what it really represents (the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!)

Sounds lovely! I’m also in the same boat. I’ll be starting off my career as a speech language pathologist on Monday!! I’m so excited! Although, I know my time will be limited. I want to make some homemade, heartfelt goodies for the ones I love this year. We can’t forget the reason for the season. What’s your pinterest id? I’d love to check out your boards!
    xoxo

What kind of blanket is that? I want to make one and have been trying to find it online. I like it a lot!

I’m not sure! I’ve been wanting to make one like that and I’ve been to every craft and fabric store looking for it and can’t find it anywhere. :(

That’s no good. :/ I’m thinking it might be like crocheting with your hands? You know? Without the crochet hook? Haha. Not sure that makes sense. I guess with really some type of large yarn?

I am so excited!!!! :D I found the blanket on this blog: http://nocturnalknits.com/page/4/

The writer of the blog says it’s not her’s but that she ordered undyed wool and she’s knitting it. I don’t know how to knit, but I think crocheting would work as well. I hope that helps you! I wanted to know so bad what it was. Haha. It’s so pretty! And I love crafts! :)
