This is pretty awesome!! Im so excited to try it!! How do you do the loop on the outside? Does it just happen as you go or do you have to know ahead of time how to do it?

  2. Christina says:

Hey Caitlin! The “jump up” loop is simple. Just grab the yarn and pull through the end loop! Try it and let me know if you need more help with it!! If you have to, pause it or make it play in really slow motion to pick it up. Good luck!! :) can’t wait to see your scarf!

  3. Caitlin says:

Thank you! ill start it sometime this week!!! So excited!!

  4. Ashlee says:

Love it! I’m so excited to make mine! Definitely will post on instagram when I’m all done. I love the ending where you set you clock next to you to show us it really only takes an hour once you get the hang of it. Thanks for sharing!

Looking forward to trying this as its a different pattern from what I use.. Also I’ve never worked with that big of yarn or hook. Did have a question about the border is it on both sides the full length of the scarf? From what I saw in the video that’s the way it looked. I’ll have to wait till I actually try to make one. Thanks for the video!

  6. Kayla Nicole Shively says:

I literally just watched the how-to video last night, and found myself in Michael’s 20 minutes later!! I am so excited to start it now! I’ve watched the video at least 10 times now so I think I got it down ;) just one question, is the border continued on all 4 sides of the scarf? See you on Intsagram love! :)

    • Christina says:

You are such a sweetheart!!! and I can’t wait to see your finished scarf!!! to answer your question, the border needs to be covered on all four sides. (that’s what I do at least) It looks better and makes it a lot easier on you! best of luck!!! :)

  7. Brittany says:

  8. Capt1nbackf1re says:

So I’ve finished my first try at this scarf design. I’ve sent a picture to my IG feed with your hash tag from the video. Looking forward to making more of these!

I am watching video and cant wait to go get my supplies. Don’t have much money for Christmas presents this year so hoping I can do this and make them as gifts. Thanks so much for sharing this. You are one great person to know in life. Is the video suppose to have u talking cause if it does I cant hear anything?? Thanks again for great video! <3

    • Christina says:

If you’re looking to save money, buy your Lion brand yarn from Walmart. It’s $3 per yarn there and $8 per yarn at Michaels and Hobby Lobby (however, they do have a bigger selection of colors). And you’re so welcome!!! Your comment made my night!! Thank you!!! :)

      • Christina says:

Oh, and I’m not talking on the video. It might just be me, but i get annoyed when I watch a tutorial with music and talking. Lol. I like to pause and really focus on the steps.

      • Capt1nbackf1re says:

Michael’s is running the chunky yarn on sale right now at 2 for 10 dollars, it’s still cheaper at Wal-mart but if you want a better selection like Christina said nows the time to snag some. I know I did today.

      • Jett77 says:

Went to Walmart tonight and all mine had was super bulky no. 6. Didn’t know if that would still work and look good or not?

  10. Lauren says:

Mrs. Gora! I’m going to get crochet stuff to make a scarf or two! I’m excited:)

  11. Jordan Leigh says:

I can’t thank you enough for this – just what I needed to get me out of this funk… Pick up a new hobby. :) I have never tried anything like this before, but I bought the supplies immediately. I will be starting it soon & tagging on Instagram when it’s finished! Thanks, girl! I so appreciate the tip on Wal-Mart yarn, too.

    • Christina says:

You are so welcome!!! I am so exited for you!!!! It’s so relaxing once you get it down, you’ll be cranking out Christmas scarves in no time!! I can’t wait to see your finished scarves!!!! :D

  12. Allison says:

I am so excited to try this! It will be the perfect hobby to try over Christmas break and hopefully I can get it down and be able to wear it possibly with my boot toppers I just ordered! :)

  13. Rose says:

    Hi Christina,

Thanks for the scarf tutorial! I plan on starting it today for my christmas gifts for my mom, sister and some friends. I bought the 19mm crochet hook and it only came in red (lion brand hook) and looks a slight bigger than the turquoise one you’re using. I saw a 15.75 mm one that’s turquoise and it’s looks closer to yours. Help! I am not very crafty, so I am worried I am using the wrong one.

    Thanks so much,

    Rose

  14. Kayla says:

How many of the 3 balls of yarn do you use for the length of the scarf a how much do you use for the border?

  15. Kate says:

    Hi Christina,
I love this tutorial it has been so helpful! Just had one question… I want to make a tube scarf instead of just one long one… how would I connect the scarf to make it into a tube?
    Thanks so much!
    Kate

  16. Anastasia says:

When the scarf is finished and you want to do the border, do you start where your last row ended and go around the whole scarf?

  17. [...] about her making scarves and then she posted a tutorial on her blog.  You can watch the tutorial here. Here are some pictures of scarves I made.  I made 15 total.  I felt like I was running a sweat [...]
